This free annual event is held on the shores of the St. Clair River in Port Huron and provides families with close encounters with our Blue Water Area Lake Sturgeon, affectionately known as the “Gentle Giants of the Great Lakes”. Since the Blue Water Area supports the largest population of threatened Lake Sturgeon anywhere in the Great Lakes, the Sturgeon Festival brings this unique viewing opportunity to thousands of families. The festival provides dozens of water-themed exhibits with hands-on activities, workshops, a live sturgeon touch tank, a Run with the Sturgeon 5K race, and our exclusive Huron Lady Sturgeon Cruises with live video allowing guests a view of sturgeon swimming on the bottom of the St. Clair River.
