Join Friends of the St. Clair River, in partnership with the Blue Water Audubon Society, for our 4th Annual Winter Bird Blast! Families are welcome to participate in one or both of the activities to learn about local winter birding opportunities, take a bird hike along the St. Clair River shoreline, and paint a Long-tailed duck winter scene.
Bird Talk & Walk – 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Donation suggested
Studio 1219 Painting Party – 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., $45 fundraiser
The Bird Talk & Walk is at the St. Clair County Administration Building Auditorium, 200 Grand River Ave, Port Huron and is free (donations appreciated). It begins at 9:00 a.m. with a Blue Water Birding presentation by the Blue Water Audubon Society. Participants then bundle up from 10a.m. – noon for hiking the St. Clair River shoreline, a birdwatcher’s paradise! Suggested items to bring include a field guide, binoculars, and a camera, however a limited supply will be provided. Participants should dress warm!!! Hot beverages will be provided.
The Painting Party is from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Studio 1219. The party is a fundraiser as a portion of the fee is given to Friends of the St. Clair River. It is open to all ages and abilities and pre-registration is required through Studio 1219 at www.studio1219.com or 810-984-2787.
