Featured Annual Events

Friends of the St. Clair River hosts several special events and fundraisers throughout the year to highlight our mission while raising awareness for and celebrating the Thumb Coast's rivers, parks, and trails. We welcome your participation and support!

April 11 • River Bash

Friends of the St. Clair River is proud to present its annual fundraiser: “River Bash: A benefit on the banks of the Black River”. This celebration-style event, held around the time of Earth Day every year, takes place at the Port Huron Yacht Club. River Bash is about coming together to celebrate, protect, and restore the rivers, parks, and trails we all love. The event includes dinner and live music, a brief program, silent auction and raffle, and a live sturgeon tank, of course! LEARN MORE

June 1 • Sturgeon Festival

Visitors can experience a close encounter with the Great Lakes’ largest fish with a live sturgeon touch tank, hands-on activities, Native American drum ceremony, Huron Lady Sturgeon Cruises, food trucks, live entertainment, and more. Since the Sturgeon Festival was hatched in 2014, Friends of the St. Clair River has been highlighting the fascinating story of this ancient fish - a mascot for the Great Lakes recovery. The Blue Water Sturgeon Festival is our largest fundraiser. Support for this annual event is amazing, raising more than $25,000 to support our year-round education and conservation work. LEARN MORE
